Overview

[11C]NNC112 is a positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand used for in vivo imaging of dopamine D1 receptors in the human brain. It is synthesized by radiolabeling the D1-selective dopamine receptor antagonist NNC112 with Carbon-11, allowing for the quantitative assessment of D1 receptor binding, especially in the striatum and cortex. Although originally thought to be highly selective for D1 receptors, later studies showed some affinity for serotonin 5-HT2A receptors in cortical regions. Its main application is in research studies of neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, substance use disorders, and other conditions involving dopaminergic function.[1][2][3][7][9]
